פועל נהרג בתאונת עבודה קטלנית בכפר קרע, לאחר שנפל מגובה של כ-12 מטרים במהלך עבודות בנייה. על פי דיווחים ראשוניים, הפועל איבד את שיווי משקלו ונפל מקומה עליונה בבניין שעליו עבד, מה שגרם לפציעות אנושות. צוותי רפואה שהגיעו לזירה ניסו להעניק לו טיפול רפואי ראשוני, אך נאלצו לקבוע את מותו במקום עקב חומרת פציעותיו.
