Israeli AI Firm Buildots Raises $130 Million for Construction Tech
Israeli startup Buildots, which specializes in AI and computer vision for the real estate sector, announced on Monday it has successfully raised $130 million. This latest funding round brings the company's total investment since its founding in 2018 to approximately $297 million. The funds will be used for further technology development, hiring, marketing, and global expansion.
The funding round was led by O.G. Venture Partners and included participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Intel Capital, Mohari Ventures, Human Capital, Qumra Capital, Poalim Equity, Viola Growth, and Avigdor Wilentz. Buildots has developed a system that connects the physical construction world with AI, creating a unified view for all project stakeholders, including developers and contractors. This allows them to monitor project status, anticipate issues, and respond proactively.
The company claims its system can shorten project timelines by an average of 15% by identifying delays and coordination problems early. The technology is built on AI and computer vision models derived from eight years of real-world data collected from construction sites. The system compares work plans with site imagery captured regularly, analyzing schedules, 3D models, and field documentation to identify and classify hundreds of construction tasks from video alone.
Buildots reports that its clients include major companies like Intel, Azrieli Group, Ashtrom, and Peretz Bonei HaNegev, as well as international firms such as STO Building Group, JE Dunn, and HOCHTIEF. The AI in real estate market is estimated to reach $405 billion by mid-2026 and is projected to grow to $1.4 trillion by 2030, with an annual growth rate of 34-36%.
The company was founded in 2018 by Roey Dannon (CEO), Aviv Liboivitz (CPO), and Yakir Sudri (CTO), all graduates of the IDF's Talpiot leadership program. Buildots currently employs around 400 people globally, with plans to hire an additional 100 employees. CEO Roey Dannon highlighted the system's applicability to various projects, from data centers to residential towers, emphasizing its role in preventing costly deviations from plans. Ziv Kop, Managing Partner at O.G. Venture Partners, compared Buildots' impact on construction to Mobileye's impact on transportation, stating the company is creating a new technological infrastructure for the industry.
