The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed indications of renewed construction and movement at Iran's "Mountain of Tools" nuclear site, located south of Tehran's main uranium enrichment facility. IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi stated in an interview with Bloomberg that while agency teams have not yet conducted an internal inspection of the tunnel complex, remote monitoring suggests activity has resumed in the area.
This announcement comes amid Iran's continued non-compliance with inspection demands, which led to the Iranian nuclear file being transferred to the UN Security Council. It also follows CNN satellite imagery and CSIS analyses pointing to a significant acceleration of construction work at the site over the past year.
Prior to the IAEA's statement, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the issue in a speech in Dallas, issuing a direct threat to Tehran.
