Jerusalem Bars Turn World Cup Viewing into Citywide Festival

Jerusalem is launching a citywide World Cup celebration in bars across the capital, with match screenings, special events, sports and culture panels, a prizes-based fan passport, and a grand raffle that will send one winner on a זוגית trip package to Euro 2028. The municipality is running the project through its business promotion department, sports department and the Jerusalem Development Authority, together with local bars.

As part of the “World Cup on the Bar” initiative, 16 bars around the city have been decorated in World Cup style and will broadcast matches throughout the tournament. Participating venues include HaSharabia, HaMifletset, HaShachen, Shila 1, Dublin, HaTaket, Blaze, Red Lady, Janet, Shoshana, Nocturno, Birtenu, Yard Burger, Beer Bazaar, Beit HaAm and Fela.

The goal is to support local businesses, increase foot traffic in leisure districts and create a shared urban experience for residents, sports fans and visitors from across Israel. In selected major matches, there will also be special viewing events and panels with sports personalities and professionals.

The digital fan passport will give stamps for visits to participating bars and screening events, with more visits improving chances in the prize draw. The main prize is a two-person Euro 2028 package including flights and a week of accommodation, and additional prizes include restaurant and bar vouchers, tickets to cultural and sports events, and other business offers. Jerusalem cardholders also get a special 1 plus 1 beer deal during match broadcasts at participating bars. Mayor Moshe Lion said the project brings the world’s biggest football festival into the heart of the city, while business chief Kfir Neyman and city council member Ariel Baziz said it is designed to connect sport with Jerusalem’s nightlife and strengthen local commerce.
