Jerusalem Cultural Calendar Features Film, Dance, Opera, and Rap
Jerusalem is set to host a diverse range of cultural events throughout the week of September 14th. The week kicks off on Monday, September 14th, at the Jerusalem Theater with a screening of the new German mystical comedy "What Marielle Knows." Directed by Frédéric Hambalek, the film, which will be shown with English subtitles, tells the story of a young girl who discovers she can read her parents' minds, leading to a disruption of family dynamics. The screening begins at 6:00 PM, with tickets costing 42 shekels.
On Tuesday, September 15th, the Hansen House will launch the Solo Dance festival, showcasing site-specific dance performances. The festival includes a performance of classical Indian Kathak dance by Pratibha Sharma at 7:00 PM, followed by the premiere of Efrat Valero's "Transitional Object" at 8:30 PM. The four-day festival concludes on September 18th with "There is Still Air" by Avi Kaiser and Sergio Antonino. Festival tickets are 160 shekels.
Wednesday, September 16th, features a wine and opera evening at the Harmony Cultural Center, starting at 7:30 PM. Attendees can enjoy opera arias performed by artists including soprano Odelya Shalev and Noam Shilo, and baritone Tristan Aguerre. A glass of wine is included with the 56 shekel ticket.
The week concludes with a concert on Thursday, September 17th, at Mazkeka, celebrating the release of Jerusalem rapper Itamar Brill's second solo album, "Love During Days of Oblivion." The concert, starting at 8:30 PM, will feature songs with lyrics reflecting on themes of introspection and belief. Tickets are 80 shekels.
