Statik and Ben El Turn Down NIS 1.5 Million Offer to Reunite for Wiz Event

Statik and Ben El Tavori declined a lucrative invitation from Wiz to perform together at the company’s lavish party, according to a report on Mako. The tech company reportedly offered the former pop duo NIS 1.5 million for a single song, but the two decided not to share the stage.

The event featured a long list of well-known performers, including Harel Moyal, Harel Skaat, Shiri Maimon, Ninet Tayeb, and Ouda. Despite the attractive offer and the fact that their post-breakup relationship is said to be cordial, sources familiar with the matter said they chose to stay separate professionally.

The refusal comes after years of success as one of Israel’s most popular musical acts, with many hits and large concerts. Since ending their professional partnership, each has pursued an independent career, Statik with his solo album “Liraz” and a role as a mentor on The Voice on Reshet 13, and Ben El Tavori through solo singles and collaborations with other artists.

The report says both are still on better terms than before, but they prefer to preserve the professional independence they have built. It also notes that both have been through difficult personal periods in recent years, with Statik divorcing Sarit Polak and releasing a documentary about the “double divorces” he went through, while Ben El Tavori continues raising his son, To Prince, with Ortal Amar.
