לקראת ימי הרחמים והסליחות, הגיע אמש (ראשון) חבר מועצת חכמי התורה וראש מוסדות 'אור החיים', הרב ראובן אלבז, למעמד מיוחד שנערך עבור עשרות לוחמי משמר הגבול הפועלים בירושלים. עם הגעתו של הרב אלבז למתחם, קיבלו אותו הלוחמים בשירה אדירה ובהתרגשות רבה, בתרועת מלך. במהלך המעמד, נשא הרב אלבז דברי חיזוק והדרכה רוחנית ללוחמים, חיזק את ידיהם העומדים על משמר אבטחת תושבי הבירה והמבקרים בה, ובירך אותם שיחזרו מכל משימותיהם לשלום לקראת הימים הנוראים.
