Penina Rosenblum sparks backlash for criticizing women who leave home without makeup

Penina Rosenblum stirred controversy during a conversation with Danit Greenberg on the program "DLP," where she said she does not like women who go out without makeup. Asked for her unpopular opinion, she replied, "I really, really do not like a woman who leaves the house without makeup." She said her view is rooted in aesthetics and grooming, adding, "I just like aesthetics, and aesthetics to me means going out well-groomed."

Rosenblum argued that makeup makes women look better. "Makeup really helps women look prettier," she said. When Greenberg noted that the current trend encourages women to feel comfortable without makeup and without conforming to a beauty ideal, Rosenblum rejected that framing. "No, that is completely not true. I like natural. I do not like too many injections and looking unnatural, but makeup, and you already look different," she said.

The discussion then turned to what younger girls might take from such remarks. Rosenblum answered with an example from her own family, saying her five-year-old granddaughter already uses her lipstick. "She puts it on so precisely, it is just unbelievable," she said. She also said, "Hair is always beautiful when it is groomed."

Her comments came at a time when more women are posting themselves online without filters or makeup, so her blunt stance is likely to draw disagreement from many viewers.
