Tal Gelboin Defends Dramatic Weight Loss and Cosmetic Changes Amid Online Backlash
Tal Gelboin, a public figure, has faced harsh personal attacks online following a significant external transformation that included a weight loss of approximately 27 kilograms and noticeable facial changes. In a recent interview on Channel 14, Gelboin addressed the criticism, including derogatory comments like "horse teeth," stating she finds the insults amusing and has chosen to stop blocking left-wing critics on social media, which led to an outpouring of negativity. She confidently declared, "I love myself and don't care about the insults."
Gelboin openly discussed the cosmetic procedures she underwent, confirming the use of Botox and hyaluronic acid treatments, which she began at age 41. She admitted starting these treatments late and recommended beginning younger to maintain appearance. Regarding her weight loss, she revealed it was achieved through injections rather than hard work, emphasizing she is unwilling to exert extra effort for such results. She also plans to undergo an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) as the next step in her personal transformation.
Behind her aesthetic changes lies a difficult personal period triggered by the war and the kidnapping of her nephew. Gelboin disclosed that the intense stress caused her to gain about 23 kilograms in three months and suffer vision deterioration, even temporarily losing sight. This physical toll motivated her decision to alter her appearance.
During the interview, Gelboin criticized what she called "the most hypocritical camp imaginable," targeting MeToo activists and the political left for abandoning their principles when it comes to her. She accused them of politicizing her choices and unfairly criticizing her association with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Despite the controversy, Gelboin expressed a sense of personal victory, stating that at age 48 she looks better than ever and highlighting her unmatched achievements in legislation and budget advocacy for animal rights. She concluded that her self-satisfaction is the best response to her detractors.
