Maccabi Tel Aviv is actively strengthening its squad for the 2026/27 season, following the acquisition of Gabi Kanyukovsky and nearing the signing of James Tavernier, who is already in Israel. The club is also looking to replace Roy Revivo, who recently transferred to Elche in the Spanish league. Yehav Gurfinkel, Shahar Rozen, and Dani Grupper, returning from injury, are expected to fill the left-back position vacated by Revivo. With Tavernier's anticipated arrival, Tyris Asante will likely move to center-back, as no other foreign defender was signed to replace Heitor. Kanyukovsky is slated to be available for the upcoming match against Hapoel Be'er Sheva. The team is now focused on signing a foreign right-winger, with Colombian player Camilo Mena of Lechia Gdańsk reportedly among the candidates. However, Maccabi Tel Aviv must free up a foreign player slot to accommodate the new signing. Difficulties have arisen regarding the loan of Jon Nikolascu to a Romanian league team, and the same applies to Kervin Andrade's potential loan. Until these departures are finalized, the club cannot sign new foreign players to replace them. Additionally, after selling Sayed Abu Farhi, Maccabi Tel Aviv needs to sign a prominent Israeli striker, with Guy Melamed of Maccabi Haifa being a desired target, pending their agreement to release him.
