Israel's Sorek A Desalination Plant Restores Full Water Supply
Israel's water economy has returned to full routine operations following the reactivation of the Sorek A desalination plant, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Water Authority announced on Thursday. During the meeting, officials confirmed that water supply to households and agriculture continues as normal. They also stated that increased production of desalinated water is replenishing reservoirs. Enhanced pumping from wells and the Sea of Galilee further ensures a continuous water supply.
The Water Authority's call center is reportedly prepared to handle any localized malfunctions. Minister Cohen praised the dedication of employees from the Ministry of Energy, Water Authority, and Mekorot for ensuring a stable water supply despite an unusual natural phenomenon not seen in the region for 30 years, highlighting the resilience of Israel's water sector.
