Truck Loses Control, Crashes Into Clothing Store in Kiryat Gat
A truck lost control on Tuesday and crashed into a clothing store in Kiryat Gat, an incident that paramedics described as "unusual" and potentially tragic. Two women who were shopping inside the store sustained minor injuries and were evacuated to Barzilai Hospital by Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics. The truck driver was also evacuated to the hospital in moderate condition.
The store owner, Miki Golzad, told i24NEWS that he and his employees had entered the back of the store just moments before the crash. "Suddenly I heard a 'boom,' I thought it was an accident outside," he said. "Then I saw a car and a truck inside the store." He described a scene of chaos, with glass and debris everywhere, and recounted helping a young girl who was trapped under mannequins and glass until MDA arrived.
Paramedics Meir Aviv and Stav Botbol noted that the private car was "literally inside the store" when they arrived. They stated that miraculously, only the two women were inside the shop at the time of the crash. There is no suspicion of criminal activity related to the incident.
