The management of "Cafe Alley" in Jerusalem is reportedly considering halting its operations on Saturdays due to a prolonged series of violent confrontations. The decision is expected in the coming days, following over six weeks of protests by Haredi demonstrators targeting the establishment.

The intense clashes have included eggs and stones being thrown at the cafe, tables overturned, and attempts to break into the premises. In separate incidents, glue was poured into the door lock, and feces were thrown at the building.

The psychological toll and fear of further escalation are weighing heavily on the cafe's management. Some within the organization behind the cafe, "Jews for Jesus," are reportedly questioning whether to continue the struggle that has turned the location into a constant friction point, which they feel contradicts their beliefs in loving others and fostering dialogue.

Despite the disruptions, the cafe has garnered significant public support. Dozens of customers and liberal activists have shown up each Saturday to support the establishment, sometimes forming human chains at the entrance while police dispersed Haredi protesters using force and stun grenades. The Haredi demonstrators have been heard shouting "Shabbos" (Sabbath) at supporters.

The organization "Jews for Jesus" is reportedly unsure if it is appropriate to continue a fight that has made the cafe a regular site of conflict, as it goes against their faith's principles of loving one's neighbor and seeking to bring people together.
