Netanyahu Confirms Hamas Internal Security Chief Captured in Gaza
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Tuesday that the head of Hamas's internal security apparatus has been captured in Gaza. Netanyahu praised the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency for the operation, describing it as "daring."
"He is one of Hamas's most senior leaders and was responsible for concealing and transporting our hostages, concealing Hamas leaders, and for building the strength and attempting to restore the capabilities of the terror organization," Netanyahu stated. The prime minister added that the individual had recently been involved in efforts to restore Hamas's governance in Gaza, deceive regarding the disarmament of the Strip, and assist in carrying out terror attacks against Israeli forces and citizens.
Netanyahu emphasized that Israel's directive is clear: "The State of Israel will continue to pursue all Hamas leaders and all those who took part in the October 7 massacre."
