Einat Wilf Says Netanyahu Backed Trump Plan With a Palestinian State

Dr. Einat Wilf, who heads the Oz party, said that Donald Trump’s peace plan, despite its flaws, included a Palestinian state. In remarks aimed at the details of Trump’s so-called “Deal of the Century,” she criticized what she described as the public’s short memory and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political positions.

“I remind you, Netanyahu said yes,” Wilf said. “He does not like being reminded of that, but Netanyahu said yes.” Her point was that Jerusalem’s political leadership had accepted the initiative at the time.

Wilf argued that the plan was ultimately blocked not by Israel but by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. She said Abbas, whom she referred to as the supposedly moderate partner, did not simply reject the proposal once, but repeatedly and emphatically.

“And Abu Mazen, the ‘moderate,’ the supposed partner, did not just say no,” she said. “He said no, no, and a thousand times no.”
