Ayman Odeh Supports Palestinian State Proposal Backed by Netanyahu and Trump

Ayman Odeh, chairman of the Hadash-Ta'al party and a Knesset member who will not run in the upcoming elections, expressed support for a two-state solution during an exclusive interview with 103FM on July 28, 2026. Odeh praised the possibility of uniting Arab parties under one banner and welcomed the potential alliance between Yesh Atid's Yoav Segalovich and the Ra'am party. He emphasized that peace with Palestinians would lead to broader peace with Arab and Islamic countries, calling it beneficial for all.

Odeh highlighted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted former U.S. President Donald Trump's 20-point plan, which includes a Palestinian state, noting, "Everyone should remember Netanyahu supports this framework." He also referenced the 2002 Saudi peace initiative, which offered Israel peace, recognition, and normalization from the Arab and Islamic world, with the Palestinian issue as the main obstacle.

Regarding Arab political unity, Odeh stressed the public's strong desire for it and questioned the focus on individual politicians before achieving party unification. He criticized the current opposition for allegedly preferring lower Arab voter turnout to prevent either Netanyahu or the Zionist opposition from securing a majority. Odeh admitted he has not recently communicated with figures like Naftali Bennett or Benny Gantz, explaining that close coordination with Zionist opposition parties might be exploited by Netanyahu to incite against them.

Odeh also acknowledged a possible coordination between Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and the Israeli opposition bloc. He reiterated his support for a political program that includes all who align with it, welcoming Segalovich's potential move to Ra'am as a positive development. Odeh concluded that a united Arab front is essential for advancing their political goals and achieving peace.
