Firefighters Control Blaze in Rishon Lezion; Electric Car Suspected Cause

Fire and rescue teams have gained control of a fatal fire that broke out in an underground parking garage in Rishon Lezion, Israel. Initial findings suggest the blaze began in an electric vehicle and subsequently spread to other nearby cars.

During firefighting and search operations, firefighters discovered a person inside a vehicle. Medical personnel pronounced the individual dead at the scene. Crews continued efforts to ventilate the large amount of smoke that filled the garage and to ensure no further ignition sources remained.

A fire investigator has launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the outbreak of the fire.
