US Air Force Confirms All 8 Crew Killed in B-52 Crash at Edwards Base
The US Air Force confirmed that all eight crew members aboard a B-52 Stratofortress that crashed at Edwards Air Force Base in California were killed. The aircraft went down shortly after takeoff during a routine test mission.
The flight was part of work supporting an upgrade program for the bomber's radar systems. Those on board included civilian government employees, contractors, and military personnel.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Because the runway was damaged in the accident, all operations at the base have been suspended.
