Israeli footballers Daniel Peretz, Manor Solomon, and Liel Abada all played in their respective English Championship matches on Saturday. Daniel Peretz, goalkeeper for Southampton, had a modest performance as his team secured a commanding 5-1 victory over Millwall. Southampton overcame a four-point deduction penalty related to the "Spygate" scandal and currently sits 18th in the Championship standings with two points. Peretz made one save but conceded an early goal in the 15th minute from Mark Sykes. Southampton then dominated with goals from Kyle Larin (two goals), Finn Azaz, Leo Scienza (penalty), and Tom Flanagan.
Manor Solomon started and played the full 90 minutes for West Ham United, but the team remains winless this season after a 1-1 draw against Watford. Watford took the lead in the 19th minute with a goal by Amin Nawazda, but West Ham equalized through an own goal by Matthew Pollock in the 27th minute. Solomon nearly scored a winning goal in the 89th minute, but Pollock made a crucial goal-line clearance to preserve the draw.
Additionally, Liel Abada completed 90 minutes for Bristol City in their 2-1 home win over Portsmouth. These results highlight the ongoing contributions of Israeli players in the competitive English Championship league.
