Ohad Halaily made his starting debut for Crystal Palace on August 28, 2026, in a high-profile Premier League match against Manchester City, a perennial title contender. Halaily delivered an impressive performance throughout the game but made a critical error in the 75th minute. When the substitution board showed number 25, indicating that he should be replaced by former Barcelona player Oscar Mingueza, Halaily hesitated and delayed leaving the pitch for over 10 seconds. Under a new Premier League rule, such a delay results in a one-minute penalty off the field. Consequently, the substitution was delayed by 60 seconds due to Halaily's time-wasting.
