Thousands Visit Joseph's Tomb Near Nablus for High Holiday Prayers

The story · English

Thousands of worshippers entered the Joseph's Tomb compound in Nablus on Wednesday night for special prayers ahead of the Jewish New Year and during the month of mercy and forgiveness. Among the attendees was a large group of women from the Samaria region, who prayed for a good year, the security of Israel, the safety of IDF soldiers, and the return of hostages. The entry was organized by the Samaria Regional Council with assistance from volunteers of the Joseph's Tomb and Holy Sites Administration, accompanied by IDF forces and the Samaria Brigade.

Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, emphasized the deep and enduring connection of the Jewish people to Joseph's Tomb, calling it a sacred site that should not be restricted to nighttime visits only. He expressed gratitude to the IDF soldiers and all involved in facilitating the visit and pledged to continue efforts until full and permanent access is restored, including establishing a permanent presence with the Israeli flag flying at the site.

Dagan also thanked Samaria Brigade Commander David Cohen, Samaria Logistics Officer Israel Rosenfeld, Border Police forces, and the volunteers of the Joseph's Tomb Administration for their support in organizing the event.
