Ohio Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill Jewish Congressman Randy Fine and Family

A 26-year-old Ohio resident, Alex Justin Miller from Columbus, was arrested and federally charged for sending an explicit death threat email to Jewish Congressman Randy Fine of Florida and his family. The email, sent on August 18, the day of the Florida Republican primaries in which Fine secured his nomination, contained a subject line stating, "Can't wait to cut the head off the shoulders." The message threatened to shoot Fine in the head, burn down his home, and murder him and his family while they slept, alongside death threats against Fine and former President Donald Trump.

Fine, a vocal critic of antisemitism, revealed this was the fourth such threat in recent years leading to an arrest. He expressed gratitude to law enforcement for the swift arrest within 36 hours and affirmed that these threats would not intimidate him. The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the Broward County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Capitol Police and the Secret Service. Miller faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison if convicted.
