Philadelphia Man Charged with Antisemitic Terror Threats Against Pennsylvania Governor

A 65-year-old man from the Philadelphia area, Richard John Franklin, was arrested and charged with making antisemitic terror threats against Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. According to Pennsylvania police, Franklin went to the office of a local legislator over a tax issue, where he uttered antisemitic curses and threatened to set fire to the governor's residence. This threat comes more than a year after a separate incident in which another individual set fire to the governor's residence in anger over Shapiro's stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict. That arsonist was sentenced to several decades in prison for the attack.
