Former Balfour Residence Worker Alleges Severe Abuse by Sara Netanyahu in Lawsuit

Rami Ben Hamo, a former household employee at the Prime Minister's residence on Balfour Street, has filed a lawsuit against the Prime Minister's Office claiming severe mistreatment by Sara Netanyahu. The lawsuit, submitted on August 25, 2026, details daily verbal abuse, humiliations, and excessive work demands from March 2023 to December 2025. Ben Hamo alleges he was subjected to ethnic slurs, including being called a "Moroccan underdeveloped," forced to clean floors on his knees, and required to work 60 to 80 hours of overtime monthly, far beyond his contract.

According to the lawsuit, Ben Hamo suffered a heart event in February 2025, undergoing angioplasty, but the harsh treatment continued afterward. He also claims he was sometimes forced to pay out of pocket for groceries requested by Sara Netanyahu. The complaint describes an incident in December 2025 where Sara Netanyahu threw plastic bags on the floor and demanded he fold them while yelling at him, culminating in her throwing a tonic water bottle on the floor in anger.

Ben Hamo states that after this incident, he informed his supervisors that he could no longer continue due to physical and mental strain. He was pressured to alter his resignation letter to cite "personal reasons" instead of the abuse he endured. The lawsuit seeks compensation of 450,000 shekels and accuses senior officials at the Prime Minister's Office of ignoring the mistreatment. A response from the Prime Minister's Office is pending.
