Sara Netanyahu Files Defamation Suit Against Former Residence Employee Over Allegations

Sara Netanyahu, wife of the Israeli Prime Minister, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Yechiel Ohev Ami, a former employee of the Prime Minister's residence. Ohev Ami worked there from September 16, 2025, until February 8, 2026, and was dismissed for professional reasons. After his request to return was denied, he began publicly making various allegations against Sara Netanyahu.

The lawsuit rejects multiple claims made by Ohev Ami, including accusations that Sara Netanyahu pushed or physically assaulted him, which she denies as entirely fabricated. She also refutes his descriptions of being forced to clean floors on his hands and knees with baby wipes and repeatedly wash cutlery. Additional denials include allegations about food cartons and suitcases brought from the United States, and claims that she rummaged through trash bins. Sara Netanyahu also denies ever wishing him to develop cancer or die, and rejects the claim that she used the term "autistic" in reference to her son in relation to Ohev Ami.

A central issue in the lawsuit concerns Ohev Ami's alleged unauthorized documentation and sharing of confidential information, including photos, documents, shopping receipts, administrative notes, and credit card details from the residence. Sara Netanyahu asserts these actions breached a confidentiality agreement he signed and violated her privacy.

The lawsuit demands at least 500,000 shekels in damages, along with injunctions to prevent further defamation. The case is currently at the complaint stage and has not yet been adjudicated. Ohev Ami's attorney, Aila Honigman, called the suit a "clear strategic lawsuit against public participation," aimed at intimidating her client for exposing alleged mistreatment by the Prime Minister's office. She expressed confidence that the truth will emerge during legal proceedings.
