Health Ministry Warns of Dangerous Water Conditions in Northern Streams

Israel’s Health Ministry and the Environmental Protection Ministry said water sampling in several northern streams and sites showed abnormal results indicating possible pollution. As a result, authorities warned that entering these waters could be dangerous.

The advisory applies to the Hatzbani from Magen HaTzafon to the confluence promenade at the Jordan River mouth, the Jordan River from Yosef Bridge to Ataret Fort, the Meshushim Pool, Gilbon, Zaki, Al Al, the Tsalmon from the Baruch Grove pool and the flour mill, and Ein Hardalit.

Officials also said two sampling points were not tested because of the security situation, Nahal Ayun near the Lebanon border and the Hatzbani Roman Bridge point. No further details on the contamination levels were given, and the warning means the public should avoid entering the affected locations until conditions are updated.
