Hassiel Rivero Joins Valencia Training Camp After Tough Season with Crvena Zvezda
Hassiel Rivero, the Cuban center who left Maccabi Tel Aviv last summer after a strong season, is currently training with Valencia as he seeks a new team for the upcoming season. Rivero joined Crvena Zvezda after departing Maccabi but suffered a serious injury that limited him to only nine EuroLeague games last season. At 32 years old, Rivero has been linked to several clubs but has yet to sign a contract.
According to Spanish outlet Encestando, Rivero has returned to Valencia's training camp, the club where he began his EuroLeague career before moving to Maccabi Tel Aviv. Although he has not yet received a contract offer from Valencia, a strong performance during training could lead to a deal. In his debut EuroLeague season with Valencia, Rivero averaged 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Last season, his stats dropped to 4.8 points and 1.7 rebounds in under 10 minutes per game over nine appearances.
Rivero's future in the EuroLeague remains uncertain, but his presence at Valencia's camp signals a possible return to the Spanish league where he previously found success.
