Nick Weiler-Babb Joins Crvena Zvezda After Stint with Villeurbanne
After an intense EuroLeague transfer period, Nick Weiler-Babb has signed with Crvena Zvezda, marking his third EuroLeague team. The 30-year-old guard, standing 1.94 meters tall, had initially signed with Villeurbanne this summer following one season at Anadolu Efes. However, due to a significant budget cut at Villeurbanne, Weiler-Babb returned to the market, with Hapoel Tel Aviv among the interested teams. Ultimately, he chose Crvena Zvezda, joining teammates Chris Jones and David Kramer, following the departure of Cody Miller-McIntyre.
Weiler-Babb previously spent five seasons with Bayern Munich and one with Anadolu Efes. In the 2024-25 season, he earned the EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year award, averaging 7.7 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds over 29 minutes per game despite Anadolu's overall weak performance. His signing is considered a significant boost to Crvena Zvezda's backcourt, announced alongside Maccabi Tel Aviv's acquisition of Keiton Wallace on the same day.
