Police Release Eldar Dayan's Suspects Due to Lack of Evidence in Death Investigation
Police investigating the death of Eldar Dayan have decided to release the two friends suspected of his murder due to insufficient evidence. The decision followed the discovery that the condition of Dayan's body did not support the theory of homicide. Consequently, the two suspects are expected to be freed from custody. Additionally, five other individuals suspected of involvement in a fight preceding Dayan's death will also be released, although legal proceedings against them will continue. A police source stated, "There is no murder according to the evidence we have gathered." The family of Dayan has been informed of these developments. Just last Thursday, the Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court had extended the detention of the five suspects related to the altercation. During that hearing, police claimed the suspects assaulted Dayan, causing serious injuries believed to have led to his death several hours later.
