Jerusalem Man Charged in Deadly Crash Killing Two Illegal Immigrants at Police Checkpoint

Israeli police have filed a prosecution statement against a 24-year-old East Jerusalem resident suspected of smuggling illegal immigrants and causing a fatal car crash near a police checkpoint in Jerusalem. The incident occurred on August 9, 2026, when the suspect attempted to evade a police inspection at the Ring Checkpoint by speeding through it.
