Israeli Gazelle Rescued During West Bank Raid; Suspect Detained for Illegal Hunting

During a joint operation last night involving detectives from the Central Unit of the Border Police Coastal Division, Border Police fighters from Judea and Samaria, and inspectors from the Nature and Parks Authority in the Civil Administration's Nature Reserves Division, a search was conducted in the village of al-Ram in the Benjamin Brigade area. The operation followed intelligence guidance from the Border Police Coastal Division's Central Unit. During the search, the forces discovered an Israeli gazelle, a protected wild animal whose possession and hunting are prohibited. The gazelle was handed over to the Nature and Parks Authority inspectors and then transferred for further care to the Wildlife Hospital at Ramat Gan Safari.

A 48-year-old suspect from the village of Kafr Aqab was detained and taken for further investigation by the Nature and Parks Authority. A case was opened against him on suspicion of offenses related to illegal trade, possession, and hunting of a protected natural asset. The operation included the arrest of the suspect and the rescue of the gazelle, with police spokesperson photos documenting the activity.
