Israeli Authorities Arrest Man Near Ramallah for Illegal Wildlife Possession

Israeli Border Police and the Nature and Parks Authority arrested a 48-year-old Arab man from the village of Kafr Aqab near Ramallah on suspicion of illegally holding a native Israeli gazelle. The operation took place overnight between Saturday and Sunday in the village of A-Ram, following intelligence indicating illegal possession of protected wildlife. During a search, the Israeli gazelle was found and handed over to the Nature and Parks Authority inspectors, who transferred it to the wildlife hospital at Ramat Gan Safari for treatment.

The suspect was detained for questioning on charges related to illegal trade, possession, and hunting of protected natural assets. Authorities have opened a case against him and urged the public to report any similar incidents of illegal hunting or wildlife possession to the Nature and Parks Authority. This enforcement action highlights ongoing efforts to combat wildlife trafficking and protect endangered species in the West Bank region.
