IDF Kills Hamas Commander Holding Multiple Hostages in Gaza Conflict
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Friday the killing of Tsabahi Sami Mahmoud Shahatot, a Hamas military wing platoon commander, during an operation in the Nuzirat area last Wednesday. According to the IDF spokesperson, Shahatot infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre and was involved in holding numerous hostages captured by Hamas throughout the ongoing war. He also participated in the November 2023 "Sky Doors" operation, facilitating the release and transfer of captives to the Red Cross. Recently, Shahatot attempted to orchestrate terror attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians. The IDF stated that his elimination was necessary to remove an immediate threat. Forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with existing agreements and will continue operations to neutralize any imminent dangers.
