American Singer Oliver Tree Killed in Brazil Helicopter Crash at 32
American singer, director and music producer Oliver Tree was killed on Sunday in a fatal helicopter crash in the Rio de Janeiro area of Brazil. He was 32. Five other people also died in the accident, including an Argentine YouTuber, two passengers and the two pilots. Reports said an investigation has been opened to determine how the collision happened.
Tree had performed in São Paulo on June 6 as part of a world tour promoting his latest album. His next scheduled show was due in Lisbon on July 1. He was best known for songs including "Life Goes On" and "Miss You."
Beyond performing, Tree had a strong interest in directing and personally made most of his music videos, which were known for their theatrical style. He began making music at a young age, experimenting with playing and producing. In 2017 he signed with Atlantic Records after "When I'm Down" went viral.
Tree released his debut album, "Ugly Is Beautiful," three years later. The California native was also recognized throughout his career for his signature bowl haircut and colorful visual style.
