IDF Chief Visits Southern Syria, Vows to Prevent Hostile Forces Near Israeli Borders
Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir visited southern Syria to conduct an operational assessment. During his visit, he toured the 210th Division alongside Northern Command Chief Major General Rafi Milo, Division Commander Brigadier General Yair Paley, and other senior officers.
Zamir emphasized Israel's vigilance over developments on the Syrian front, stating that hostile forces will not be allowed to establish themselves near Israel's borders. He highlighted the IDF's readiness to apply precise military force when necessary to prevent the emergence of terrorist threats and significant military dangers along the frontier.
He also noted that Israel has established a forward defense zone in Syria, serving as a buffer to protect Israeli communities, where Israeli forces actively operate to maintain security.
