Family Mourns 7-Year-Old Hallel Murdered in Beit Shemesh Stabbing Attack

Hallel Mordechai Dadon, a 7-year-old boy, was fatally stabbed in his home in Beit Shemesh on August 17, in an attack that also seriously injured his 4-year-old cousin, Ray. The assailant, reportedly mentally unstable, entered the house and attacked the two children while they were alone. The incident has deeply shocked the local community and the family.

At Hallel's funeral, his uncle Shlomi, who tried to save him, emotionally expressed his sorrow, saying, "I wish I could have done more. I hope you felt that I was there." Hallel's father, Amos Dadon, told N12 that he did not know the suspect and was unaware of the attack until his eldest son called him urgently. He described the confusion surrounding the event and noted that the police have issued a gag order on details.

Hallel's mother, Tamar, shared her grief and the harrowing moments after the attack. Initially, she thought the stabbing was a nationalist terror attack. She recounted how her brother Shlomi tried to stop the bleeding of both Hallel and his cousin, not realizing that his own son was also wounded. Tamar described Hallel as a joyful, pure-hearted child with a bright future, tragically cut short. She also spoke about the challenge of explaining the tragedy to her other five children, including one with special needs.

The family is still awaiting further details as the investigation continues. The community remains in mourning over the loss of a young boy taken in such a violent and senseless manner.
