Four-Year-Old Stabbed in Beit Shemesh Undergoes Surgery, Condition Stable
A four-year-old boy stabbed in a violent attack in Beit Shemesh underwent surgery and is currently in moderate and stable condition, according to medical staff at Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center. Professor Dan Arbel, head of the pediatric surgery department who operated on the child, reported that the boy is recovering satisfactorily with his family by his side.
The stabbing incident occurred on Monday afternoon on Emek HaZaytim Street in the old neighborhood of Beit Shemesh. Two cousins, aged four and seven, were attacked near an inflatable pool in the family’s yard. The seven-year-old, Hillel Mordechai Dadon, succumbed to his injuries at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
The father discovered the injured children upon returning home, while the mother was out shopping for a birthday celebration. A 15-year-old relative who was watching the children witnessed the attack. Emergency teams from Magen David Adom and United Hatzalah described the scene as chaotic and severe, providing life-saving treatment and resuscitation efforts at the scene before transporting the children to the hospital.
Police arrested a 25-year-old neighbor suspected of carrying out the attack. The suspect, believed to have a mental health background, allegedly entered the home, assaulted the children, and fled. The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.
