Israeli Police Arrest Six Suspects in Western Galilee Over Alleged Criminal Shooting Plot
Israeli police and Border Police forces in the Western Galilee arrested six men in their 20s and 30s early Wednesday morning on suspicion of preparing to carry out a shooting related to a criminal dispute. The arrests followed reports of gunfire directed at a residential home earlier that day. Authorities conducted covert surveillance and observations at a location where some suspects were believed to be planning a retaliatory shooting.
Upon raiding the site, police say the suspects attempted to dispose of evidence, including a Kalashnikov assault rifle. Officers recovered the rifle and a loaded Glock pistol with a magazine inserted. The suspects were taken into custody and transferred to the Western Galilee police station for questioning. The seized weapons and ammunition were sent for forensic examination.
Police stated that further decisions regarding the suspects' detention will depend on the investigation's progress and findings. The operation was carried out by the Western Galilee police station and Border Police units from the coastal area.
