Israeli Authorities Charge Negev Bedouin for Planning Bombing at Beersheba Club

The Southern District Prosecutor's Office filed serious charges against Abdullah Gargawi, a 20-year-old resident of the Bedouin community Segev Shalom in the Negev, accusing him of security offenses and illegal possession of weapons and ammunition. Gargawi was arrested on July 19 following an investigation revealing his prolonged exposure to ISIS-related content on social media, his ideological alignment with the group, and his consumption of terror materials. He also established contacts online, including with an individual posing as a Palestinian terrorist, and participated in Telegram groups exchanging ISIS and terror-related content.

The investigation uncovered that Gargawi prepared explosive materials and planned a car bombing attack at the Forum club in Beersheba. Between March and April 2026, he possessed an illegal M16-type weapon with standard parts, accessories, and ammunition, and discharged it in an open area. Further findings showed that in 2025, he held multiple weapons at his home, including a MAG, Kalashnikov, Negev rifle, M16, magazines, and ammunition.

Police and the Shin Bet emphasized the severity of the case, noting the suspect's intent to carry out a terror attack was thwarted through joint efforts before execution. They reaffirmed their commitment to rigorously combat any Israeli citizen involvement in terrorism and to ensure full legal consequences for those threatening Israeli civilians and residents.
