Pakistan Says US and Iran Reach Peace Deal, Signing Set for Friday
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said a “peace agreement” has been reached between the United States and Iran. According to Sharif, the official signing ceremony is scheduled for June 19 in Switzerland.
Sharif said both sides declared an immediate and permanent end to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon. He added that once the agreement takes effect, the mediating parties will help organize a series of meetings this week.
The announcement did not provide further details on the terms of the accord or on which mediators are involved. It also did not specify whether the statement reflected a formal confirmation from Washington or Tehran.
