Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and army chief Asim Munir will take part in negotiations between the United States and Iran, according to the Pakistani prime minister’s office.
At the same time, Iranian television reported that Tehran’s negotiating delegation has landed in Zurich, Switzerland, where the talks are expected to continue.
The brief announcement did not give further details on the format of the discussions, the agenda, or the timing of any formal session. It did make clear, however, that both Sharif and Munir are set to be involved as Pakistan positions itself in the diplomatic process.
