Severe Highway 90 Crash Near Tiberias Leaves 12 Injured

A serious road accident on Highway 90 near Tiberias injured 12 people, including one man in severe condition and several others moderately and lightly hurt. Medics from Magen David Adom treated the wounded and evacuated patients to Ziv Medical Center in Safed and Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, including by helicopter and intensive care ambulances.

MDA said six injured people were transported from the scene, among them a 22-year-old man in serious condition with a head injury, a 11-year-old girl with facial and abdominal injuries, a 22-year-old man with a pelvic injury, a 21-year-old man with head and limb injuries, a 23-year-old man with back and upper-limb injuries, and one additional lightly injured person. Two more lightly injured passengers were also taken from the scene.

MDA paramedic Tohar Rahamim and senior motorcycle unit medic Aviad Amar said they saw two cars with heavy damage. “There were eight injured at the scene, all fully conscious,” they said, adding that one 22-year-old man had severe body injuries and was flown by MDA-Hatzalah Air to hospital in serious condition. They said four of the remaining injured were moderately hurt and were taken by ambulance, while two passengers were lightly injured.

United Hatzalah said the crash involved three vehicles. Senior motorcycle ambulance medic Aharon Ovadia and responders Nehorai Gmedani, Yuri Kris and Yinon Twito said they treated a roughly 35-year-old man in serious condition who was flown to hospital, a girl about 12 years old in moderate condition, and five lightly hurt people, a couple in their 30s, their 4-year-old son, and a 40-year-old man.
