Seven Injured in Serious Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 90 Near Ashdot Yaakov

A severe traffic accident involving three vehicles occurred today on Highway 90 near Kibbutz Ashdot Yaakov, resulting in seven injuries. Emergency responders arrived promptly to provide initial medical care at the scene. The most critically injured is a man in his 30s who was trapped inside his vehicle with multiple traumatic injuries. Firefighters extricated him, and he was airlifted by Magen David Adom's rescue helicopter to Rambam Hospital in Haifa. Due to the severity of his condition and the distance to the hospital, he received a blood transfusion during the flight, a rare procedure performed onboard to stabilize him.

Three other victims sustained moderate injuries: a woman in her 30s with abdominal and chest trauma, a 5-year-old girl with abdominal injuries, and a one-year-old infant with a head injury. Additionally, three individuals with minor injuries were transported to Poriya Medical Center for further treatment. Paramedics Meir Ben Yair and Amnon Barzilai, who treated the critical patient during the helicopter flight, explained the urgency of the blood transfusion and its role in stabilizing the patient en route.

Separately, medics from the 'Hatzalah' emergency team treated about ten people with various injuries, including some severe cases, following a jeep rollover near Mitzpe Jericho. Both incidents highlight the ongoing challenges faced by emergency services in the region.
