Yeshiva Student Expelled After Shouting at Former Health Minister Uriel Buso
A student at the Sephardi Haredi yeshiva Be'er HaTalmud was expelled after publicly criticizing former health minister and current Knesset member Uriel Buso of Shas. The incident was first reported Sunday evening by Kan News.
According to the report, the student shouted at Buso during a wedding in Ashdod, saying, “You should be ashamed of yourselves, you are sleeping.” After that, a parliamentary aide close to Buso, who had previously worked under him, moved to have the student removed from the yeshiva.
The student was kept outside the institution for a week, until an “apology talk” was held with Buso present. During that meeting, Buso reportedly told him, “Buso the private person forgives, the Knesset member does not.” The student then returned to the yeshiva.
However, sources in the yeshiva said the student received another threat in recent hours: “If this story is published, you will be expelled permanently.”
