Yeshiva Student Suspended After Rebuking Shas MK at Wedding
A student from the Sephardi yeshiva Be'er HaTalmud was removed from the school for a week after openly criticizing former health minister and Shas MK Uriel Buso, according to a report Sunday evening by Daniel Groveis on Kan News.
The confrontation took place at a wedding in Ashdod, where the student shouted at Buso, “Shame on you, you are sleeping.” After that, a parliamentary adviser close to Buso, who had previously worked under him, reportedly acted to secure the student’s suspension from the yeshiva.
The student stayed out of the institution for a week until a “conversation of apology” was held with Buso present. During that meeting, Buso told him, “Buso personally forgives, the Knesset member does not.” Afterward, the student returned to the yeshiva.
But sources in the yeshiva said the student received a new warning in recent hours: “If this story is published, you will be expelled permanently.”
