Israeli Police Reveal Month-Long Escape Plan of Mally and Liel Yahalomi to Argentina

Israeli police investigations have uncovered that Mally and Liel Yahalomi, a mother and daughter, meticulously planned their escape for about a month, starting in July 2026. They took deliberate steps to cover their tracks, including acquiring untraceable phones and deleting tracking apps from their devices. Although they had some bank debt, sources told N12 that the amount was not significant, and the motive behind their sudden disappearance remains unclear.

During their escape, Mally attempted to contact the Israeli consulate in Vienna, but the call went unanswered. The two then flew from Frankfurt, Germany, to Buenos Aires, Argentina, on a Lufthansa flight, with police suspecting they intended to continue to another South American country. Israeli police intelligence units coordinated the operation from a command center, working closely with Europol, foreign law enforcement, and international border authorities.

Upon identifying their flight, Israeli police representatives stationed in Mexico traveled to Argentina to monitor their arrival and coordinated with local authorities. The mother and daughter were tracked continuously until they were apprehended on a bus. The police emphasized that they believed the pair left Israel voluntarily without coercion but needed to meet them face-to-face to confirm their status.

The global search was led by Israel Police Commissioner Doron Levy and executed by the Economic Crime Unit of Lahav 433 alongside the intelligence division. The police expressed gratitude to all domestic and international partners who assisted in the extensive and focused search operation.
