Europol Joins Investigation into Disappearance of Mally and Liel Yehalomi Possibly Leaving Austria

Europol has become involved in the investigation into the disappearance of Mally and Liel Yehalomi, with authorities suspecting that the mother and daughter may have left Austria. The Vienna police have stated there is no evidence of a criminal incident, but the National Unit for Combating Economic Crime is exploring all possibilities. The family only became concerned earlier this week after the two did not respond to messages following the Sabbath.

During the investigation, it was revealed that their mobile phones were tracked near Vienna's train station on Saturday morning, a curious detail given their observance of the Sabbath. Authorities are currently reviewing surveillance footage to determine if they boarded a train that day. Despite various speculations, police maintain there is no indication of kidnapping or foul play.

The family described the disappearance as highly uncharacteristic, noting no prior incidents that might explain a voluntary disappearance. The case was transferred to the National Unit for Combating Economic Crime to trace their whereabouts. A gag order was imposed on the investigation on Thursday morning. Earlier reports indicated that all options remain under consideration.

A family member emphasized their close-knit nature, daily communication through WhatsApp, and that Mally, aged 50, is a banker with a 23-year-old daughter. They noted that a return flight from Prague to Tel Aviv was scheduled for the previous day, with plans for the two to return home after arriving in Prague.
