Family Urges Full Investigation Into Disappearance of Mally and Liel in Vienna

The family of Mally and Liel Yahalomi marked a tense week since the two disappeared in Vienna, calling on security forces to explore all possible scenarios, including a terror attack. They expressed deep concern over the unusual loss of contact, emphasizing Mally's role as a devoted mother and grandmother and Liel's vibrant personality. The family urged authorities to continue searching relentlessly and to keep all investigative avenues open until conclusively ruled out.

The last known location of their mobile devices was near a Vienna train station on Saturday morning, about two kilometers from their residence. While Vienna police stated there is no suspicion of a criminal event, the family strongly rejected claims that the women left voluntarily and demanded consideration of a nationalistic motive amid rising antisemitism in Europe.

A gag order was imposed on Wednesday regarding the investigation, which is led by the National Unit for Combating Economic Crime (Ya'alak) at Lahav 433. Police clarified that the gag order does not indicate any specific investigative direction and that all leads are being examined. Ya'alak maintains extensive international law enforcement cooperation and expertise for cross-border investigations.

Social media rumors linked Mally's employment at Bank of Jerusalem’s retail headquarters to the disappearance, causing the bank’s stock to drop over 12% before stabilizing. The bank denied any irregularities or concerns about client funds. The family condemned the rumors and media reports suggesting the missing women carried large sums of money, calling for respect and continued support in the search efforts.
