Maccabi Netanya Sets €2 Million Price for Midfielder Basem Za'arura Amid Be'er Sheva Interest

Basem Za'arura, a 23-year-old midfielder currently playing for Maccabi Netanya, is attracting significant interest from Hapoel Be'er Sheva ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League playoff matches against Sabah. Za'arura is under contract with Netanya for two more years, and the club aims to make a substantial transfer profit by setting a €2 million price tag for his acquisition.

Za'arura has been in excellent form, scoring nine goals in his last 18 appearances for Netanya, where he has become a key player over the past season. Originally purchased from Maccabi Haifa three seasons ago for 900,000 shekels by then-coach Ran Kozuch, who is now interested in reuniting with him at Be'er Sheva, Za'arura has also had loan spells at Ironi Tiberias and Hapoel Afula. Prior to joining Maccabi Haifa, he played in the youth systems of Ironi Nesher and Hapoel Haifa.

Maccabi Netanya has a history of selling homegrown talents for significant fees, including Daniel Dappa for €1.8 million and Joslin Tabi for €4 million last season, both under the management of Ross Kastin. Other notable sales include Eitan Azulai, Boris Ino, Omri Gandelman, Raz Shlomo, and Eden Kartsev, reflecting the club's strategy of developing and profiting from young players.

The interest from Be'er Sheva highlights Za'arura's rising profile and the club's willingness to negotiate a lucrative transfer, though Be'er Sheva will need to invest considerably to secure the midfielder's services.
