IDF Confirms Killing of Hamas Platoon Commander Holding Seven Israeli Hostages
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the killing of Mohammad Bassam Mushtaha, a Hamas platoon commander in the Shati Brigade, during an operation in northern Gaza Strip on July 30. Mushtaha was involved in the October 7 massacre and held seven Israeli hostages, including the late Tzachi Idan and Corporal Noa Marziano, as well as Ziv Berman, Omri Miran, Uri Magidish, Naama Levi, and Matan Angrist. According to the IDF, Mushtaha was actively planning terrorist attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. His elimination was intended to neutralize the threat he posed.
